Research & Policy Internship
Research & Policy Intern will support the mission and work of The People, primarily through assisting with special election/policy related projects and related research. This is an UNPAID internship and is not stipended; however, we are happy to work with your school/institution to provide documentation confirming project work to fulfill academic credit / service requirements.
Responsibilities:
Provide general support to the Political and Operations Senior Manager
Draft summary reports and case studies of successful reform campaigns
Assist in implementing our Operation Vote America program
Identify statutory requirements for election procedures in key states
Outreach to partner organization digitally and over the phone
Assist with presentation preparation
Track and engage with reform campaigns happening across the country
Special projects to include research, compiling data, and preparation of summary reports
Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills
Time management skills
Computer literacy and experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Experience with databases such as NeonCRM a plus. Familiarity with Zoom
Organizational and project management skills
Willingness to work collaboratively and with diverse stakeholders
Community organizing experience a plus
Must own/have access to a computer for intern project use
Qualifications: Must be 18 years old and authorized to work in the US. High School diploma or equivalent required. College students preferred with strong preference for students currently pursuing or who have obtained a degree in Liberal Arts, Communications, Political Science or a closely related field. Computer Literacy and experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Zoom is a plus.
Working Schedule: 10-15 hours / week, with exact days and times to be determined according to your schedule. May be required to participate in planning call, which are typically once a week for 1 hour.
Duration: This internship is offered for either summer semester or both summer and fall semesters and is available beginning May 20th, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
