Research & Special Projects Internship

The Research & Special Projects Intern will promote the mission and work of The People and Deliberations.US through our online presence, research, engagement and outreach initiatives. The position requires an individual who is creative, resourceful, can work autonomously, takes initiative, and demonstrates excellent follow through. This is an UNPAID internship and is not stipended; however, we are happy to work with your school/institution to provide documentation confirming project work to fulfill academic credit / service requirements.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work cross-functionally in various departments of the organization to execute outreach initiatives and organizational events and activities

  • Track analytics and use data to increase engagement 

  • Research campuses and community organizations for participation in our Deliberation events.

  • Work collaboratively with intern cohort to drive organizational awareness, engagement, and advocacy

  • Coordinate planning, scheduling, logistics, and communications for Deliberations.US events and recurring meetings

Skills: 

  •  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to produce detailed-oriented and timely work. 

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication

  • Comfort with multi-tasking and prioritization with attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness

Qualifications: Must be 18 years old and authorized to work in the US. High School diploma or equivalent. College students preferred with strong preference for students currently pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts, Communications, Political Science or a closely related field. Willingness to work collaboratively and with diverse stakeholders.

Work Schedule: Flexible schedule to fill approximately 10-15 hours/week, with exact days and times to be determined according to your schedule. All job duties may be done from home, but weekly meetings with the project supervisor and weekly organization-wide internship meetings (Thursdays 12:30-2pm ET) via Zoom will be required.

Duration: This internship is offered for either fall semester or both fall and spring semesters and is available beginning September 11th, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
